Separate from the file processing settings, preferences are basic program options that are not changed when a settings file is loaded. Preferences are stored in a file in the Preferences folder within the System Folder. The Add/Strip™ Preferences window is arranged into three distinct areas: Naming, Browsing, and Miscellaneous. The Naming area allows a user to specify a character string to be used as a prefix or suffix to the suggested output file (or folder). The Browsing area allows a user to specify various option relating to how the text is displayed when browsing a file. The Miscellaneous area contains a pop-up menu and a series of checkboxes that toggle on or off various behaviors. The “Drag & Drop…” button displays a dialog box used to control how TEXT files are handled when they are dropped onto the A/S desktop icon. This button is only available if AppleEvents are supported by the system. The “Folders…” button displays a dialog box used to choose the folder containing favorite settings files and the input and output folders used for automatic processing. Changes made in the Drag & Drop and Folder Preferences windows are not saved unless the OK button is selected in that window and in the main Add/Strip™ Preferences window.
